Then you will go to the most famous winery "Gambino" in Linguaglossa. In the winery you will pay 30,00 Euros per person for the wine tasting (including 4 different wine, 2 white and 2 red, cheese, cold cuts, products in oil like olives, aubergine, mushrooms, dried tomatoes, legumes, sausage and cous cous with vegetables).

Unique climate and ground conditions determine the typicality of the Etna grapes and wine. At the highest altitudes the changes of temperature between night and day (which are considerable, up to 13-15° C in July and August) allow a phenol and aromatic ripening that is essential for the colour and taste of the red grapes and for the aroma of the white wines.

Etna and the Gorges of Alcantara

Mount Etna is the largest volcano in Europe. It extends for approximately 1250 square km. and reaches the height of 3350 m. a.s.l. For its repeated eruptions over the last few years, it can be considered to be the most active volcano in the world. Excursions to Mount Etna are among the most interesting attractions availible to tourists. A typical excursion begins from the height of 1923 mt (Rifugio Sapienza), by means of a modern cableway, you will reach the altitude of 2005 mt. The second part of the excursion starts at this point, continuing on only by jeeps. With these, you will go on the authorized crater confines accompanied by expert and experienced drivers.

The Gorges of Alcantara were carved over the years by the homonymous river between the chains of the Nebrodi, Peloritan mountains and Etna. The gorges conserve a unique and ever-changing naturalistic landscape similar to a canyon. The height of the rock contrasts with the widht of just a few meters, offering a constantly changing, suggestive and unrepeatable landscape where clear lakes meet foaming waterfalls and little beaches formed by erosion.
